Assistant Sales Support Manager

Are you a team-player who is willing to learn what needs to be done and get it done?

Progressive Specialty Glass Company, a leading supplier of customized take-home souvenir drinkware, is searching for a highly motivated Assistant Sales Support Manager for their company headquarters in Plainville, CT. Progressive’s Administrative Sales Support team plays a vital role in managing the essential processes resulting in the shipping and delivery of our souvenir glassware into our customer’s establishments throughout the U.S.

This is a unique high-touch position that requires strong customer services skills, moderate to advanced MS Office Suite skills, moderate to advanced invoicing knowledge, strong organization and time management skills, proficient communication skills and basic knowledge of logistics.


  • Assists the Sales Support Manager in leading a team of 10-12 Sales Support Representatives
  • Provides direction to the team on all matters related to customer accounts.
  • Addresses problems, develops solutions.
  • Regularly assigns, directs and controls the work of the department.
  • Approves various form before they can be sent to other departments for further processing.
  • Responds to customer requests/order updates, and questions from customers/ the external ales teams and the SSR team as well as partner departments.
  • Reviews reports and runs weekly reports to monitor SSR performance.
  • Assists in collections of overdue customer accounts.
  • Successful demonstration of Key Responsibilities and Knowledge as presented above.
  • Serves as point of authority and/or source of technical/scientific knowledge for area of expertise.
  • Demonstrates comprehensive knowledge of organization's business practices and issues faced and contributes to problem resolution of those issues.
  • Co-Leads Weekly Staff Meetings
  • Attends twice weekly Management Team Meetings
  • Manages a portfolio of accounts in addition to Asst. Manager Duties.

Required Skills and Experience:

  • Previous Management experience, (3-5 years preferred)
  • Act as a liaison between the External Sales Team, Customer and Internal Departments.
  • Interact with the External Sales Team to insure order accuracy and timely shipment of orders.
  • Handle high-demand, high-volume incoming requests from Customers.
  • Ensure issues are resolved professionally, promptly, thoroughly.
  • Track Customer invoices including: payment, identify and follow-up on delinquent accounts, notify/update the department manager on problem accounts.
  • Logistics experience preferred but not required.
  • Provide coverage and support when other team members are out of the office.
  • Generate reports as requested.

Regional Sales Manager (New York & New England) 

Progressive Specialty Glass Company, Inc., a leading supplier and manufacturer of customized souvenir drinking containers since 1977, has a need for a Regional Sales Manager to join our team. 

We are currently looking for an experienced Regional Sales Manager in a multi-state capacity, serving New England and New York, to contribute to our company’s sales objectives. Your responsibilities will include building and growing the sales team as well as long-term client relationships. 

We will rely on your creativity and thorough knowledge of sales processes to provide innovative ideas for business growth. Communication and team management skills are also essential for this position. Ultimately, you will aspire to develop and maintain successful relationships with current and new customers. 


  • Develop and implement effective sales strategies and ensure its timely implementation
  • Lead and develop the regional sales team members to achieve sales targets
  • Establish productive and professional relationships with key personnel in assigned customer accounts
  • Negotiate and close agreements with customers
  • Monitor and analyze performance objectives and suggest improvements
  • Refine and manage compensation plans and contests.
  • Recruit and train sales staff for effective sales growth
  • Perform research and identify new potential customers and new market opportunities
  • Provide timely and effective solutions aligned with client’s needs


  • Five or more years of proven successful work experience with a team of at least 10 members
  • Experience in Food, Beverage or Hospitality industry required.
  • Must be willing to travel on a regular basis within the assigned region including overnight stays
  • Demonstrated experience managing and retaining a high-performance sales team
  • Ability to multi-task and still produce results
  • Visionary individual
  • Administer sales lead management software such as GoldMine or SalesForce
  • Solid customer service attitude
  • Excellent negotiation skills
  • Strong communication and team management skills 
  • Analytical skills with a problem-solving attitude 


This is a full-time position that offers a very industry competitive six figure salary plus commissions with an excellent benefit package including, health, vacation, company paid life insurance policy and 401k with company match.
